Description
The well-head located north of Ridgegrove Mills is likely from the 18th century or early 19th century. It features an inscription that reads "80," which probably indicates it was fitted with a pump by J.H. Best in 1880. The structure is made of slatestone rubble and has a slate slab roof that is covered in soil. It has a small rectangular plan and is built into the hedgerow bank at the side of the road. The ledged door was locked at the time of the survey, making the interior difficult to see, but it contains a complete iron pump with a curved handle and a lead spout.
