Description
This headstone, dating from 1775, is located 5 metres south of the southwest corner of the tower of the Church of St Nonna in Pelynt. It commemorates Susanna, the wife of William May. The headstone features a profile of an angel, another angel above, and an hourglass, all framed by thin twisted columns that surround the inscription. The text is inscribed in lower case serif letters and includes a verse that reads: "Weep not for me nor lament no more I am not lost But gone before To my dearest Friends that Dwell Above Them will I go and see And all my friends in Christ below Will soon come after me."
