Headstones Of Henry And Mary Hack And Charles Hicks 8 Metres To South Of Vestry Of Church Of St Nonna

There are two headstones located 8 meters to the south of the vestry of the Church of St Nonna in Pelynt. The first headstone, dated 1763, commemorates Charles Hicks. It is made of slate and features a triangular head decorated with an angel's head with wings. The inscription is in lower case lettering with serifs and includes a verse that reads, "My Wife and Children dear now cease your tears for me If I am gone I am not lost Where Christ and Angels be."

The second headstone, dated 1784, is directly to the west and honors Henry and Mary, who were the son and daughter of Joan Hack. This rectangular slate headstone is adorned with two angel heads in roundels. Its inscription, also in lower case lettering with serifs, includes the verse, "Weep not, nor Lament no more in vain If you have Lost, we have Gain We hope to dwell with Christ above Where joys abound no tongues can tell."
