Description

The Hayle King George VI Memorial Arch is a Grade II listed structure built in 1844. It is located next to an ancient walled earthwork. The arch is constructed from granite ashlar with granite dressings and features brick vaulting. It has a single span elliptical skew arch that abuts embankments on either side. The design includes a plinth, an impost string, and alternate long and short voussoirs forming the elliptical arch. Additionally, there is a parapet string and a panelled parapet that displays a central date plaque with a relief inscription.
