Description
The former foundry located on Foundry Lane in Hayle dates back to the early 19th century and was built for Harvey and Co. The structure features walls made of Killas and elvan rubble with granite dressings, topped by a hipped roof covered in grouted scantle slate and projecting eaves.
The building has a rectangular plan with seven bays, each originally featuring a large doorway at the front, although all but one of these doorways are now partly blocked. The east front is symmetrical with wide round brick arched openings in each bay. The second doorway from the left remains unaltered, while the others have been modified to include windows. The first floor originally had loading doorways in the second, fourth, and sixth bays, with windows in the remaining bays; all are now fitted with windows. The third, fifth, and seventh bays retain original 16-pane hornless sash windows, while most of the other windows are older iron casements with glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected.
