Description

These are two late 18th-century buildings, numbers 30 and 32 Chapel Street, constructed from granite ashlar. They have slurried slate roofs with gable ends, and are distinguished by moulded granite eaves cornices and quoins. The buildings are two storeys high with a basement and attic, and originally featured four sashed windows, each with a keyblock. A splayed bay window to the right, with a dentilled cornice, has replaced one of the original windows. A double enclosed porch, featuring slender fluted Doric pilasters and approached by a flight of steps, is positioned to the right of the main entrance. To the left of the porch is an elliptical arched passageway with a keyblock. A doorway with a cornice on consoles provides access to the building. Plain iron railings are located in front of the buildings. The buildings are part of a group of listed buildings on the North East Side of Chapel Street.
