Description
Nos. 22 and 24 on St Thomas Street are a pair of town houses, which may have originally been a single house. They date from the late 18th century to early 19th century. The front is rendered over rubble, and the building features a steep asbestos slate roof with projecting front eaves and a cast-iron ogee gutter. The houses have a shallow-depth plan and are two storeys high with a three-window range.
No. 22 has early 19th-century sixteen-pane hornless sash windows on the ground floor, while No. 22A has mid to late 19th-century four-pane hornless sash windows on the first floor, including a central window above a pair of pilastered doorways. These doorways are adorned with consoles and a moulded entablature, and there are six-panel doors with plain overlights. Additionally, there is a late 19th-century six-pane horned sash window on the left. The interior has not been inspected.
