Description
Lyndale is a house with origins dating back to the 17th century, which was remodeled in the 19th century and again in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of painted and rendered stone rubble and features a slate roof with gable ends. The house has stone rubble end stacks with brick shafts on the front slope of the roof. The original layout likely consisted of two rooms with a cross or through passage arrangement, heated by end stacks. In the 19th century, a second range was added to the rear, and in the mid-20th century, this rear range was probably raised to two stories, with alterations made to the main roof and an increase in the ridge height. The exterior is two stories tall with a symmetrical two-window front, featuring early 20th-century two-light casements with glazing bars and a central glazed door. The house is located on the north side of the village green.
