Description
The Siers monument is a headstone located in the churchyard about 7 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St Brevita. It dates from the 18th century and is made of slate. The monument features two round-headed panels with incised borders, each adorned with a carved fan at the top corners and a central heart pierced by an arrow, surrounded by leaves. It includes a laudatory quatrain that reads: "Behold here lie the Husband and the Wife / Now joined in Death as once they were in Life . . .". The monument commemorates John Siers, who died in 1786, and Grace Siers, who died in 1818.
