Description

This is an early 19th-century school building, now serving as a village hall. It was restored and altered internally between 1982 and 1984. The building is constructed of granite rubble with dressed quoins, and has a hipped slate roof. Originally designed with a single-room plan, access to the ground floor room was from the right side, while the first floor was entered via a door located at a higher ground level at the rear, facing the churchyard of the Church of St Brevita. A 20th-century staircase has been inserted.

The symmetrical front elevation features two three-light mullion and transom windows on both the ground and first floors, with hollow-chamfered mullions and transoms. The right side has a 20th-century door set within a chamfered granite lintel. A similar window is present on the left side at both ground and first floor levels. The rear has a 20th-century porch with a pitched roof and a 20th-century inner door.

A flight of ten wide granite steps is attached to the left side of the building, providing access to the churchyard. The interior has been extensively altered in the 20th century.
