Description

This is an early 19th-century town house with a later shop front, located on Church Street in Launceston. The front of the building is faced with incised render, replacing earlier stucco, and topped with a rag slate roof featuring projecting front eaves and a cast-iron ogee gutter. The house has a double-depth plan with a rear wing set at a right angle. It is three storeys high and has a two-window front. Original 12-pane hornless sash windows remain. The ground floor now has a mid-20th-century shop front made of chromed steel with transomed plate glass lights and a late 20th-century fascia. An older glazed entrance door with an overlight is flanked by splayed and parallel sidelights. The shop interior was altered in the 20th century, while the rest of the house has not been inspected.
