Description

Newton is a house with an adjoining integral barn, likely built in the 18th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a rag slate roof with gable ends. The house has a stone rubble end stack with a moulded string on the left and a stone rubble axial stack with a moulded string located between the house and the barn on the right. The building is situated on a slope that descends to the east, with the house positioned along this slope and the barn at the higher end on the right. The house has a two-room and cross passage plan, heated by end stacks, while the rectangular barn is built into the slope.

The exterior is two storeys high with a regular two-window front. The original windows have been replaced with 20th-century casements in the original openings, featuring two windows on both the ground and first floors. There is a rendered lean-to porch near the centre with a slate lean-to roof. The barn has a two-storey elevation at the rear, with the ground rising to the front, allowing access to the loft. The interior is not accessible for viewing.
