Description
Wallhouse is a house dating from the early 17th century, constructed of stone rubble, granite, and moorstone, with a rag slate roof featuring gable ends. The building likely originally had a two-room and cross passage plan, with a larger hall kitchen on the left heated by a stone rubble end stack that has a moulded string. A smaller, unheated room on the right may have been used as a dairy. In the late 20th century, a parallel range with a two-room plan was added to the rear.
The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical front featuring two windows. On the left, there is a two-light casement, and to the right, a small 19th-century casement. The door is located to the right of centre and features a plank door with a 20th-century extension that forms a front porch. The first floor has two two-light casements, and there is a small window next to the stack on the left gable end.
Inside, there are 17th-century chamfered ceiling beams with straight cut stops, a chamfered timber lintel above the fireplace with straight cut stops, and a splayed opening to the rear on the right.
