Description
Daniell's Warehouse is a warehouse located on wharf and quay walls, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from Killas rubble with granite quoins and jambstones, featuring segmental brick arches, all set on battered quay walls made of large partly dressed granite blocks. The building has steep, part bitumen-grouted dry Delabole slate roofs with a hipped return on the right. It stands three storeys tall, plus attics, with a two-window range on the river frontage. Each floor includes a window/loading doorway/window/loading doorway arrangement: there are two 9-pane windows, two louvred windows, and two shuttered windows; the doorways are boarded except for the left-hand upper floors, which have part glazing with vertical glazing bars and random panes. The other elevations are similarly detailed and feature various mostly old doors and glazing. The interior retains its original floor and roof structures. This building appears to be depicted on the 1840s tithe map and is grouped with the Anchor Warehouse and the quay walls at Quay Hill.
