Description

A pair of attached houses dating from the early to mid-19th century, situated in St Columb Major. The houses are constructed of stone rubble, with the ground floor rendered and the first floor slate-hung. The roof is hipped and covered in asbestos slate tiles, with ridge and hip tiles, and features an axial stack and a gable end stack to the right, both with brick shafts.

Number 1 is to the left and Number 3 to the right. Number 1 has a two-room layout, with a room to the left heated by an axial stack and a room to the right potentially heated by a rear stack; each room is of equal size and has a central entrance. Number 3 has a single-room layout, with a door on the left and heating via a stack in the right gable end.

The exterior presents a two-storey, asymmetrical three-window front. The first floor features three early 19th-century 16-pane sashes in exposed boxes. The ground floor has three bays to the left, with a central 19th-century six-panelled door flanked by pilasters and a blind overlight. There's a matching 16-pane sash window to the left and right. The two bays to the right also feature a similar 19th-century six-panelled door and a 16-pane sash window. The left end is in rough stone rubble at ground floor level, with a blind window above. The interior has not been inspected.
