Description
This is a house located southeast of Hazeldene, likely built in the early 18th century, with some later alterations. The structure is made of painted stone and rubble, topped with a slurried slate roof featuring ridge tiles and gable ends. It has a gable end stack on the left with a brick shaft.
The house has a one-room plan, with the entrance leading directly into this room, which is heated by the gable end stack on the left. There is a greenhouse attached to the right side of the house.
The exterior features two storeys and one window. On the ground floor, there is a 2-light 8-pane casement window and a plain door, both set under cambered arches. The first floor has a 2-light 2-pane casement window. The left end of the house has a large external stack, while the right end includes the attached greenhouse, which has a 2-light 6-pane casement window with L hinges on the first floor. At the rear, there is an attached single-storey shed.
The interior was not fully inspected during the survey in December 1986, but the ground floor room contains 19th-century ceiling beams and a fireplace with a 19th-century mantel and an oven to the right.
