Description

The lodge, located approximately 100 metres north-west of Trist House, is likely a converted farm building dating from around 1834. It is constructed of slatestone rubble with reused granite Gothic details and features a Delabole slate roof with wide eaves and verges. The building has cusped and ogee barge-boards and plaster soffits. It is designed with a two-room plan and stands two storeys high, featuring a two-window west front. The central door is framed by a shallow porch and a reused pointed arched doorframe that rises into the gable, topped with finial coping along the ridge. Inside the porch, there is a piscina-like recess with a cusped arch. To the left of the door, there is a single light cusped arched window, and above it, a single light trefoil-headed window with a hoodmould, which is likely from the 15th century. Similar two-light windows are found to the right. A straight joint to the left of the first-floor right window suggests there was once a door in that position. The windows feature leaded glazing that follows the original decorative pattern. On the north gable, there is a rose window with quatrefoil detail and leaded glazing, while the south gable includes a single light reused window from the 15th century.
