Description

Rose Villa is a house, likely dating to the 17th or 18th century. It is constructed of painted rubble, with an asbestos slate roof and stone stacks at the gable ends. The house follows a double-depth, central stair plan, presenting a 3-window front. The central entrance features a 6-panel door with glazed upper sections, set within a 20th-century glazed lean-to porch. The windows are 4-pane sashes with horns. The building was erected at a right angle to the slope, with a lower, scantle slate-roofed lean-to on the left-hand side. This lean-to has a wide doorway and planked doors, with slate weatherings in the gable. The roof slopes lower towards the rear. The interior features a dogleg staircase with rectangular balusters and two 18th-century 2-panel doors leading to the first floor.
