Description

The building is a bakehouse, cartshed, and former cottage dating from the 18th century, located immediately northwest of Trelill Farmhouse. It is constructed of granite rubble with some granite dressings and features a scantle slate roof. There is a small granite ashlar stack over the left-hand gable end and a very large rubble stack over the right-hand gable end. The building has a rectangular single-depth plan with a rounded front right-hand corner.

On the left side is a one-room plan former cottage with its entrance on the right. In the middle is a cartshed with a chamber or store above, and on the right is a bakehouse, also with a chamber or store above. The exterior has a fairly irregular four-window southeast front, with a wide approximately central cartshed doorway. To the left of this doorway are three fairly large window openings that have 20th-century windows. The other three window openings are smaller, with two of them featuring early 19th-century two-light casements with six panes in the surviving casements. The front of the building appears to be unaltered, making it a rare survival of an unusual building type. The interior has not been inspected, but an inspection might clarify the precise function of each part of the building.
