Description
The stable and coach house, built in the early to mid 19th century, is located about 30 metres north of Creed House. It is constructed of slatestone rubble and features a hipped roof covered with slurried scantle slate and ridge tiles.
The building has a double-width coach house at its center, flanked by stabling on both sides. To the right, there is a later 19th-century lean-to with a loft above. The main building includes a loft along its first floor.
The exterior is asymmetrical and two-storey. The stable on the right side features two 16-pane sash windows from the 19th century, timber lintels, and a plank door with an overlight. The first floor has two loading doors. The central coach house has two doorways with plank double doors, a deep loading door above, and smaller loading doors on either side. The stable on the left end has a plank door with an overlight and a similar 16-pane sash window, along with one loading door above. The lean-to at the right end has a 9-pane sash window on its right side, while the left end includes a loading door at the upper level. At the rear, there is a central external stair leading to a doorway to the loft, covered by a hipped hood. There are also 2-light windows with shutters, which have strap hinges, and loading doors on either side.
Inside, the left stable contains two loose boxes with wooden mangers and saddle racks. The right stable has one loose box and a small partitioned room. All floors in the stables are cobbled with drainage channels.
