Description
The building is a cart house located approximately 60 metres north-west of Lannarth Farmhouse. It is possibly originally a cider house that was later converted to a cart house, likely built in the 18th century or early 19th century. The structure features unpainted cob walls over a rubble footing, which were formerly lime washed. The roof is thatched with wheat reed, half-hipped on the left (east) side and fully hipped on the right. It has a small rectangular single cell plan with an entrance on the left side, which was widened in the 19th century, along with an original loading doorway above. The interior remains unaltered, showcasing unhewn beams and the roof structure. This building is an unusually complete and very rare thatched farm building for Cornwall, adding a picturesque quality to the roadside.
