Description

South Priddacombe Farmhouse and the attached outbuilding on the left are a farmhouse and barn that likely originated in the 18th century and were extended in the early 19th century. The structure is built of stone rubble and features a rag slate roof with gable ends and a half-hipped end on the outbuilding. There are stone rubble end stacks.

The original plan of the farmhouse consisted of one room with the entrance on the right, and a ground floor room heated by an end stack on the left. In the early 19th century, a second room was added to the right of the entrance, which also has an end stack, creating a two-room and cross passage layout. Additionally, there was an extension on the left end in the 19th century that includes an outbuilding, likely used as a shippon on the ground floor with a loft above.

The farmhouse is two storeys tall and has an almost symmetrical three-window front with a straight joint to the right of centre. The entrance is slightly to the right of centre and features a 19th-century plank door along with a 19th-century open-fronted stone rubble porch with a lean-to roof. To the left of the entrance is a two-light casement window, which has had its glazing bars removed, and to the right is a 19th-century two-light casement. On the first floor, there is a two-light casement window with glazing bars removed on the left, a one-light casement near the centre, and a 19th-century 20-pane sash window on the right. The attached outbuilding on the left has an entrance near the centre and stone rubble steps leading up to a loft door on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
