ALTARNUN SX 17 NE 6/27 South Priddacombe Farmhouse and - outbuilding attached on left

Farmhouse and attached barn. Probably C18 origins extended in early C19. Stone rubble. Rag slate roof with gable ends and half-hipped end to outbuilding attached on left hand end. Stone rubble end stacks. Plan: Originally of one-room plan with entrance on right and ground floor room heated by end stack on left. Extended in circa early C19 with second room to right of entrance, the room heated by an end stack, thereby forming a two-room and cross passage plan. Also extended on left hand end in circa C19 with outbuilding with probable shippon on ground floor and loft above. Exterior: Two storeys. The house has an almost symmetrical 3-window front with a straight joint to right of centre. Entrance slightly to right of centre with C19 plank door and circa C19 open-fronted stone rubble porch with lean-to roof. 2-light casement to left with glazing bars removed and C19 2-light casement to right. First floor with 2-light casement with glazing bars removed on left, 1-light casement near centre and C19 20-pane sash to right. Outbuilding attached on left has an entrance near centre and stone rubble steps leading up to loft door on right. Interior: Not inspected.
