Description
The Vicarage Farm Farmhouse, now a private house, was built in 1848. It is constructed of painted and rendered stone rubble, with a steeply pitched pyramidal slate roof. A central axial stack rises from the roof, finished with granite ashlar and a moulded cap. The building has an almost square, double-depth plan with the main rooms facing the front, centred around the entrance, and service rooms at the rear. The right-hand side, overlooking the garden, is set back, featuring a deep verandah that extends around the side and part of the front elevation, supported by thin iron columns. The roof slopes steeply, almost to ground level at the windows. The front and right-hand side walls are set back, creating the verandah. The central entrance has a simple plank door, flanked by a mullion and transom window on the left and a two-light casement window on the right. A central gabled dormer window, with a mullion and transom window and 19th-century cusped barge boards, sits above the entrance. Two similar dormers are located on the centre of the right and left-hand elevations. The interior has not been inspected.
