Description
Dryworks Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around the mid-18th century, with extensions added in the 19th century. It is constructed of granite rubble, with the front face covered in slate, and has large granite quoins. The roof is of rag slate, with gable ends, and features stone rubble end stacks. The original plan likely comprised two rooms and a cross or through passage, with end stacks heating the rooms. In the early 19th century, a wing was added to the rear right, and an outshut to the rear left. The front facade is almost symmetrical and slate-hung, presenting a two-window arrangement. The entrance is located to the right of centre, accessed through an early 19th-century open-fronted stone rubble porch with a slate roof. To the left of the entrance is a 19th-century three-light casement window, and to the right, a two-light casement. The first floor has two 19th-century two-light casement windows. A later 19th-century wing extends to the rear on the right. The interior was not inspected.
