Description
The garden walls to the east, south, and west of Lismore are early 19th-century structures made of killas rubble, topped with scantle slate copings and red clay ridge tiles. These walls enclose an irregularly shaped garden that slopes down on two sides to a valley bottom. Part of the south side serves as a kitchen garden, which includes a storage sump that is fed by water from Five Wells. Adjacent to the east side of the kitchen garden is a rustic garden feature arch, constructed from irregular blocks of granite. The east wall of the garden acts as the boundary wall with No. 4. The gardens at Lismore significantly enhance the townscape in the center of Helston.
