Description

Lower Rosewarrick Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid to late 17th century, with additions and alterations made around the mid 19th century and some changes in the 20th century. It is constructed of granite rubble and features an asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends, along with gable end stacks that have brick shafts. The layout consists of a three-room plan; the room on the left is heated by a gable end stack, while the right side has a passage and a small unheated central room, with a rear lateral passage. The room at the far right is also heated by a gable end stack. A single-storey outshut was likely added to the rear during the 19th century, extending the full length of the back. In the mid-20th century, the roof level was raised over both the main range and the outshut.

The exterior is two storeys tall and features a nearly symmetrical four-window front. On the first floor, there are four 19th-century 16-pane sash windows. The ground floor has a 28-pane sash window from the 19th century with a timber lintel to the left, alongside a half-glazed 20th-century door with a pitched slate hood supported by posts with a scalloped valance. To the right, there are two 16-pane sashes with timber lintels. The left end of the building is blind and rendered at the upper level, while the outshut is also rendered. The right end is similar, featuring a single light window at both the ground and first floors in the outshut. At the rear, the outshut is two storeys high, with random windows, including three 20th-century casements on the first floor and two 20th-century casements on the ground floor to the left, plus one to the right, along with a 20th-century lean-to porch. The interior has not been inspected.
