Description

The farmhouse dates to the mid-18th century and was enlarged around the mid-19th century, with few alterations since. It is constructed of granite rubble, cob, and partly rendered, with a slate roof featuring ridge coping tiles and gable ends. Brick gable end stacks are present. The original house was a single-room dwelling in granite rubble, with direct access to the room, heated by a gable-end stack on the left side. Around the mid-19th century, it was extended by one room to the right, in cob with a rendered finish, and another gable-end stack. A single-storey outshut is located to the rear of the original room, with a stack on the left side. A later single-storey addition, built of rubble and angled to the main house, serves as a scullery/washhouse and has a copper stack.

The left side of the two-storey section boasts a 2-light 6-pane casement window on both the ground and first floors, along with a half-glazed door under a timber lintel. The cob addition to the right mirrors this with similar casement windows. All windows are 19th-century replacements. The left side features an external stack with a curved oven at its base. The outshut has a brick end stack. The right gable end wall is constructed of rubble. The rear of the outshut includes a single-storey section with a loft, where the roof forms a catslid relating to the main house roof; a 2-light 3-pane casement lights the loft on the inner side. The rear of the outshut also has a 2-light 6-pane casement and a 6-pane light. A single-storey rubble addition to the left has a corrugated iron roof and features a 2-light 3-pane casement and a door to the rear. The interior was not inspected.
