Description

The Peter tomb, located approximately 2 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St Mawnan, is a chest tomb dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It commemorates Robert Peter, although the date is indecipherable. The tomb is made of dressed granite and features a rectangular plan. It has a large granite base, stop-chamfered plinth, vertically-set granite ashlar sides, and a moulded granite lid with an incised inscription on top.
