Description

This chest tomb, dating from 1654, is dedicated to Thomas Peter and is located approximately 23 meters southwest of the Church of Saint Mylor. It features dressed granite monolith sides with chamfered tops and a square-edged inscribed granite lid. The tomb is rectangular in shape. The lid displays an achievement at the head and a simple incised inscription that reads: "THOMAS PETER PREACHER OF MYLOR ABOVE 20 YE 57 YEARE OF HIS AGE IN YE YEARE 1654." This tomb is noted as the earliest monument found in the churchyard.
