4/235 Chest tomb to Thomas Peter at approx 23m south west of Church of Saint Mylor

Chest tomb. 1654. To Thomas Peter. Dressed granite monolith sides with chamfered tops and square edged inscribed granite lid. Rectangular-on-plan. Lid has achievement at head and simple incised inscription of : THOMAS PETER PREACHER OF MYLOR ABOVE 20 YE 57 YEARE OF HIS AGE IN YE YEARE 1654. This is the earliest monument found in the churchyard.
