ST BREWARD SX 17 NE 7/187 Pair of small shelters of uncertain purpose 150 metres to east of summit of Butter's Tor II

Pair of small shelters of uncertain purpose. Circa C19 or earlier. Granite rubble. Plan: Small shelter of overall roughly circular plan with central dividing wall forming two semi-circular cells. Two low entrances in front. Built into side of steeply sloping bank which rises up to Butter's Tor (1038') on the west. Exterior: Low shelter, built into the bank with two rectangular openings forming entrances on front. Roughly constructed corbelled granite rubble roof. Earth floor. It is possible that these buildings were goose houses and belonged to the farm which now stands derelict to the south.
