Description
Engine Cottage and chimney is an engine house that has been converted into a house, located about 20 metres from a chimney to the northwest. It dates from the late 19th century and has some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of slatestone rubble and has a slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends.
The engine house has a rectangular plan and is now a two-storey house, with the first floor set back from the ground floor. The front gable end features a 20th-century two-light casement window on both the ground and first floors. On the left side, there is a door with a pitched hood, and the first floor has two two-light casements. The right side has two-light casements on the ground floor and one on the first floor. The chimney, which is about 20 metres to the northwest, is circular in plan, tapered, and has a rubble cornice.
