Description
The churchyard cross, located about 2 metres east of the south porch of the Church of St Bartholomew in Lostwithiel, is a medieval structure that was restored in 1882. It is made of limestone and features a medieval lantern with a crocketed gablet and crocketed pinnacles on all four sides. Each side of the lantern is adorned with carved figures representing the crucifixion and the Virgin and Child. The lantern is mounted on a 19th-century chamfered shaft, which stands on a square plinth. The front panel of the plinth bears an inscription that commemorates the restoration by Frances Margery Hext.
