Description

This is an early 19th-century house, remodelled in 1869 by Henry Rice. It is built of stucco over rubble, with some rubble visible on the sides and rear, and has an asbestos slate roof with wide eaves. The house has a double-depth plan and a symmetrical 3-window front over three storeys. Most windows are 20th-century replacements with glazing bars, except for a mid-19th century 12-pane sash on the first floor to the right, and a blind window above the doorway. The doorway has engaged Doric columns and a frieze with triglyphs, panelled reveals, and a four-panel door. The rear of the house has an original round-arched stair window with glazing bars and a fanlight. The interior is described as altered in previous listing descriptions. A coped rubble screen wall stands to the right, featuring a doorway on the left and a blocked doorway on the right.
