Description

The Hawke Monument, located south of Westbourne House in Liskeard, dates from 1887 and commemorates Richard Hawke and Sarah Ann, who died in 1904 at the age of 77. The monument is a tall, square-shaped structure made of dressed granite, standing on a stepped base. It features scalloped corners and fielded-panelled sides, with an inscription on the south panel. The monument is topped with a moulded cornice leading to a squat pyramidal cap.
