Description
Dean Meadow is a suburban villa dating from the mid-19th century. It is built of stucco with rusticated granite quoins, and has a dry Delabole slate roof with moulded eaves. The house follows an irregular double-depth plan. The front elevation is symmetrical with three windows arranged in a 1:1:1 pattern. The central bay is recessed and contains a wide doorway within a doorcase featuring a moulded architrave, pilasters with consoles, and an entablature with a moulded hood. The door itself is a six-panel design with sidelights and a transom with overlights. The windows are original 12-pane hornless sashes. Ground-floor sashes are situated within surrounds that echo the doorway design. First-floor sashes have eared architraves, and all windows are set on granite sills supported by brackets. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to contain features of interest.
