Description

The Udy monument is a headstone located in the burial ground about 6 metres south west of Gunwen Methodist Church in Luxulyan. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of slate. The headstone features a round-headed inscription panel set within a square-headed stone. It is adorned with carved sunbursts at the top right and left, along with an incised border. The monument commemorates Joseph Udy and was crafted by Carne of Bodmin in 1811.
