Description
The wellhouse and the remains of the Holy Well are located 5 metres south of Penventon Farmhouse in Bradoc. The wellhouse is possibly from the 15th century, with some rebuilding that likely occurred in the mid-19th century. It features rubble stone walls and a corbelled roof, along with a roughly dressed stone lintel that has a chamfer and partly dressed jambs. The structure is adjacent to the remains of a medieval well to the east, which is locally reputed to be a Holy Well. Both the wellhouse and the well are built into a field bank that encloses a natural spring. At the time of inspection, the site was much overgrown and fenced off.
