SX 16 SE BRADOC BRADOCK (OR BROADOAK)

4/35 Wellhouse and remains of Holy - Well 5 metres to south of Penventon Farmhouse

GV II

Wellhouse and remains of adjoining earlier Holy Well. Wellhouse possibly C15 with later mid-C19 part rebuilding. Rubble stone walls and corbelled roof with roughly dressed stone lintel with chamfer. Partly dressed jambs. Adjoins remains of medieval well on east reputed locally to be a Holy Well. Both built into a field bank to enclose a natural spring. At time of inspection much overgrown and fenced off.
