Description

HAYLE LETHLEAN LANE, Phillack SW 5638-5738 9/124 Le Sage and Thomas tombs at - approximately 15 metres north of east end of Church of St Phillack GV II 2 chest tombs. Mid C19. To Le Sage and Thomas families. Each chest has dressed granite monolithic sides and on incised slate lid. Both chests are rectangular. South chest is inscribed to : Charles Francois Nicholas Le Sage, died 1849 aged 29 ; Anne, daughter of John and Monique Poole,, died July 26th 1850 aged 18 months ; Isabella, their 3rd daughter, died June 22nd 1856 aged 1 year 8 months and Ann relict of Charles Francois Le Sage, died 1860. North chest is inscribed to : Stephen, eldest son of Stephen and Sara Thomas, formerly of parish of Redruth, died August 9th 1851 aged 13 years 6 months also Thomas their son, died at Odessa Villa, Hayle, on June 9th 1887 aged 41.
