Farmhouse and adjoining outbuildings. Circa early C19. Built by ancestor of the present occupiers, named Roberts. Killas rubble, cob to upper floor of adjoining former wash house/apple loft. Asbestos slate roof (house) with brick chimneys over the gable ends; corrugated iron over shippon; grouted scantle slate roof over wash- house with brick chimney over the gable end on the right. Plan: Unaltered plan. House has 2 rooms at the front flanking an entrance passage mostly open to kitchen/living room on the right and with doorway to slightly deeper parlour on the left. Straight flight stair at rear of kitchen. Masonry wall between front rooms and shallow rear service rooms: pantry on the left and scullery on the right. Adjoining on the left of the house is a shippon with loft over. The shippon is built into the bank at the rear and on the left where there is a doorway to the loft in the gable end. On the right is a slightly later probable wash-house with probable apple loft and an old lean-to on the far right. Exterior: 2 storeys. Unaltered elevations. House has symmetrical 3-window east front with central doorway. Original door and windows in openings spanned by shallow segmental brick arches. 4-panel door. 16-pane hornless sashes. Both shippon (left) and wash-house (right) have old doors and windows. Shuttered 2-light window to loft over shippons; 2 light casement with 3 pane and 6-pane lights to right of wash-house. Right-hand wall of house (towards rear) has 2-panel door and 16.-pane horizontally sliding sash over. Apple loft has rear loading doorway with old ledged door. Interior: Virtually unaltered with most of its original features.
