Description

The rubbing stone, located approximately 60 metres north of Penwarne House, is a Grade II listed structure. This rubbing stone is situated in a small meadow next to a large, irregularly-shaped field. It dates from the 18th century or possibly earlier. The stone is a roughly-hewn granite monolith featuring chamfers where former slots were cut for splitting with wooden wedges.
