2/97 Higher Trelease Farmhouse and including garden walls

II

Farmhouse and garden walls to front (north) and rear (south). Circa early-mid C19. Slatestone rubble with brick arches. Hipped scantle slate roofs with 2 large stone rubble chimney stacks, one over rear wall of left-hand room and also serving wing beyond and one large external lateral stack to right-hand (west) side wall of wing to rear of right-hand room. Hipped roofs to wings at right angles to main roof and with valley between. Plan of 2 equal reception rooms flanking central through passage linked to axial passage to futher entrance to right (west) between right-hand room and kitchen wing. Further room to rear of left-hand room; porch to rear of passage and small room, probably fuel store, attached to right-hand (west) side. 2 storys. Symmetrical 3-window north front with central doorway and panelled door. Original hornless sashes with glazing bars to all window openings. Shallow brick arches. Cast iron ogee gutters. Interior not inspected but said to be little altered. Rubble coped garden walls. A prominent building on high ground with particularly impressive stone stacks in vernacular style. Externally unaltered since the mid C19.
