One of a group of 4 similar houses built on a 3 life lease system. 'Under such leases a piece of waste ground could be obtained at a nominal rent, and on it the lessee would proceed to erect a house with the understanding that at the death of the longest lived of three selected persons, the ground, together with all the buildings, and improvements should revert to the original owner. Leases could sometimes be renewed on payment of a fine'. Source CORNISH HOMES AND CUSTOMS by A.K. Hamilton Jenkin. An unspoilt house in an harmonious architectural group and overlooking a beautiful and unspoilt stretch of Cowlands Creek.
