Description
This is a tombchest commemorating William Betenson, located 8 meters to the north of the northeast corner of the church tower in Lesnewth. It was erected in 1771 in memory of William Betenson of Grylls, who died in that year, as well as his son William Gilbert Betenson, who died in 1759, and daughter Ann Betenson, who died in 1767. The tombchest is made of slate stone rubble and features a rectangular shape with a slate lid. It is inscribed with both upper and lower case serif lettering, including a verse and heraldic arms.
