Description

The building at 17 Chapel Street dates to the 18th century. It is a three-storey structure built of painted brick. The front facade features sash windows with margin lights, lacking glazing bars, one window on each floor. The first-floor window is a canted oriel bay with a modillioned cornice. A recessed door is framed by a cornice supported by brackets and panelled reveals. The roof is slate, with modillioned eaves. The building forms a group with numbers 15 to 18 and the Methodist Church.
