Description

Cousham Cottage is a house located in St. Andrew's Street, Cawsand, originally dating to the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is constructed of painted rubble with an asbestos slate roof and a gable end stack featuring a shaped cap on the left side. The house probably began as a two-room plan. The main entrance is off-centre to the right, with what was formerly a shop window on the left. The ground floor features a 20th-century nine-pane light to the left, a mid-19th century shop window with chamfered pilasters to the sides containing six panes, a two-panelled door within a moulded frame to the right, and another nine-pane light at the right end. There are two 20th-century raking dormers. The building has a battered plinth. The interior was not inspected, but it is said to retain an early roof structure.
