Description

This milestone, located 250 meters southwest of Polroad Cottages, is possibly from 1837. It is made of granite and has a rectangular shape with a rounded top. The milestone features an incised inscription with black painted lettering that reads '5' and includes a bench mark. It is situated on the Turnpike road that connects Camelford and Wadebridge. Historical records, including plans for a new road line from St Kew Highway to Knights Mill, date back to 1837 and can be found in the Cornwall Record Office.
