Description
This milestone, located 170 meters southwest of Lanseague Cottage, is possibly from 1837. It is made of granite and has a rectangular shape with a rounded top. The milestone features an incised inscription with black painted lettering that reads '6 CAM'. It is situated on the Turnpike road that connects Camelford and Wadebridge. Historical records, including Acts from 1760, 1782, and the 19th century, reference this road. A plan and section for a new road line from St Kew Highway to Knights Mill, dated 1837, can be found in the Cornwall Record Office.
