SX 19 NE POUNDSTOCK TREGOLE

9/149 Outbuilding about 60 metres - south-east of Lower Tregole Farmhouse - II

Farmhouse in use as outbuilding. C17 with some C19 alterations at lower end. Cob above rubble stone, partly plastered. Corrugated iron roof with gable ends, formerly thatched. Front lateral stone stack, right gable end cob stack with offsets and stone shaft partly rebuilt in brick. 3 room and through passage plan with remains of stair adjacent to front lateral stack and early C19 stair at lower end. 2 storeys. Long asymmetrical 2 window front with C20 stable entrance at higher end of front and C20 door to left of lateral stack, further C20 entrance to right of stack. 2-light timber ground floor window may be original, two 2-light C20 casements to first floor. Interior: large fireplace with chamfered fireplace beam with runout stops to lateral stack, chamfered cross and axial beams to former hall. Pegged trusses. Early C19 stair has stick balusters.
