Description
Stratford Mill is a mill located on the Blaise Castle Estate, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from red Pennant rubble and features a pantile roof with coped end gables. The building has a single-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a two-window range. There are two stable doors at the center and a door on the first floor. The paired casements have horizontal bars and timber lintels. The interior has not been inspected. Notable features include a steel undershot wheel, a ratchet, and a sluice located at the left end of the mill. It is likely that the mill predates Repton's Picturesque landscape design for Blaise Castle House.
