Description
Woodman's Cottage, located on the Blaise Castle Estate, is a cottage built in 1798 by Humphry Repton, with some alterations made in the mid-20th century. The cottage features a rough-cast exterior, a brick ridge stack, and a round-ended tile roof, following a T-shaped plan. It is a single storey with an attic and has a one-window range. The fenestration is varied, mostly from the 20th century, but the original ground-floor and dormer windows on the north side retain Gothic-headed glazing bars. The cottage also has an altered verandah and a slated porch, with bargeboards on the gable. The interior has not been inspected. This building is part of Repton's landscape scheme for Blaise Castle House and is mentioned in the Red Book.
